A new diazo method for the determination of bilirubin.

چکیده
A new technic for the determination of total bilirubin is reported. The substitution of 2,4 dichloroaniline for sulfanilic acid results in a very stable diazotized reagent which reacts quickly with bilirubin in plasma or serum. Comparison with a sulfanilic acid procedure indicates that similar analytic values are obtained with this technic; short quality control studies indicate satisfactory precision was obtained.

Modification of the DuPont aca as exemplified by a new procedure for neonatal total bilirubin.
Hemoglobin interferes with determination of total bilirubin by the diazo procedure with the DuPont aca. We compared results by that procedure with those by a manual direct spectrophotometric two-wavelength method. Because the manual method was not inhibited by hemolysis as was the DuPont aca diazo procedure, we reprogrammed our DuPont aca to measure the absorbance of diluted serum samples at 45...

ROPER CLINICAL MANAGEMENT of infants with erythroblastosis fetalis necessitates the determination of total serum bilirubin. Of the many modifications of the original diazo reaction on blood serum (1) a micromethod using capillary blood is preferable. One tenth miffiliter of serum was used by Davidson et al. (2) in their modification of the Ernst and F#{246}rster (3) method and by With (4, 5) in...

Haemoglobin interference in the determination of bilirubin was compared in 7 different methods using the Jendrassik-Grof procedure, the Jendrassik-Grof-Nosslin modification, and the more recent procedures using nitrophenyldiazonium, 2,5-dichlorophenyldiazonium, 2,4-dichloraniline, and a direct reading method. To a variable degree, haemoglobin decreased the apparent absorption of the reaction pr...
متن کاملThe Determination of Bilirubin with the Photoelectric Colorimeter
The main source of error in the determination of bilirubin in serum by the diazo reaction has been the loss caused by adsorption on the protein precipitate. In addition, the lack of an accurately matching artificial standard and the sensitivity of the azobilirubin color to changes in pH have made accurate calorimetric determinations impossible, without the aid of some type of objective photomet...
